Welcome message from the Head of the Departmen

Incepted in 2007, the Department of Civil Engineering is a proud constituent of the College of Engineering at Northern Border University. Our department is dedicated to shaping future leaders and innovators in the field of civil engineering through our comprehensive, ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science program.

The Civil Engineering Program not only equips students with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills necessary in the industry, but it also instills in them a sense of responsibility towards sustainable infrastructure development. We conferred the first degrees in the academic year 2012-2013 (1433-1434 AH), marking the inception of a long-standing tradition of academic excellence and commitment to the advancement of civil engineering.

We are proud to announce that our program has been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) since 2016. This international recognition testifies to the quality of education we provide, ensuring our students receive a globally recognized and respected qualification.

In addition to the ABET accreditation, we recently received national accreditation from the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA) in July 2023. This accreditation is a testament to our program's alignment with national standards, further reinforcing our commitment to deliver high-quality education that fulfills the needs of our students and the industry.
