The Department of Civil Engineering was established in 2007 in the Faculty of Engineering at Northern Border University. The department devotes all efforts to empowering future leaders and innovators in the field of civil engineering through a comprehensive Bachelor of science program.

The Civil Engineering program aims to provide students with the basic knowledge and practical skills necessary in the construction industry and instill a sense of responsibility towards developing sustainable infrastructure. The first class in the program graduated in the 2012-2013 academic year (1433-1434 AH).
