Tasks :

  • Identify academic advisors for students in the Department.

Tasks :

  • Contribute to the formation of links for graduates with the Department, College and University and activate communication between them.

  • Studying scholarship applications and following up on scholarships in the Department in accordance with the regulations in the University.

Committee of preparing and following up the implementation of the operational plan of the Civil Engineering Department

Tasks:

  • Preparing, implementing, updating and developing the operational plan for the Civil Engineering Program.
  • Following up the implementation of the annual operational plan for the Civil Engineering Program.
  • Alignment between the strategic plan of the College and University and the operational plan of the Civil Engineering Program.
  • Preparing reports on the completion of the annual operational plan for the Civil Engineering Program.

Committee of preparing the self-study in the Department of Civil Engineering

Tasks:

  • Preparing program self-evaluation standards.
  • Preparing the self-study report for the program.
  • Organizing papers and electronic evidences for self-study and reviewing it in coordination with the quality committees within the Department and the College.
  • Ensuring that the report of measuring the main performance indicators of the program for the last three years has been completed and reviewed in coordination with the quality committees Department and the College.

Tasks:

  • Periodically review the mission and goals of the Civil Engineering Program.
  • Surveying beneficiaries' opinions regarding the mission and objectives of the Civil Engineering Program.
  • Aligning the mission of the Civil Engineering Program with the mission of the College and the University.
  • Aligning the objectives of the Civil Engineering Program with the mission of the program and with the objectives of the College and University.

Community Service Committee of the Civil Engineering Department

Tasks:

  • Implementing the initiatives and outputs of the University and College strategic plan in terms of community service.
  • Suggesting community activities for Department staff in line with the program's vision, mission, and objectives.
  • Building effective partnerships between the community and the Department through the College Deanship.
  • Activating partnership and cooperation with the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education.
  • Encourage employees and students to participate in community service programs.
  • Supervising the organization of courses, lectures and seminars in the field of social responsibility and community service.

Graduation Projects Committee, Department of Civil Engineering

Tasks:

  • Forming and distributing students into groups and appointing a member or two of the Department staff as a supervisors for each group.
  • Develop guidelines to help students make proposals for graduation projects and draft interim and final reports.
  • Studying and approving proposals for graduation projects and informing students of the committee's decisions in this regard.
  • Preparing and following up the implementation of schedules for semester and final exams for graduation projects.
  • Encouraging students to communicate with the industrial environment to work on realistic projects and help solve problems that they face in graduation projects at all stages of project completion.
  • Arranging the discussions and the names of the discussants at the end of each semester and having them approved by the committee chairman.

Laboratories and Learning Resources Committee, Department of Civil Engineering

Tasks:

  • Studying the needs of the Department's laboratories in terms of equipment, consumables and maintenance.
  • Preparing the specifications of the devices needed by the laboratories and studying the technical offers to ensure their technical conformity before the completion of the purchase process.
  • Developing a periodic maintenance program for the laboratories and following up on its implementation by the laboratory supervisors, especially at the end of each semester.
  • Equipping laboratories with the necessary furniture as well as appropriate teaching aids.

  • Preparing questionnaires, surveying the opinions of beneficiaries, and urging those concerned to access them for the purpose of evaluating performance.
  • Collecting evidences and witnesses related to questionnaires and opinion polls from the relevant authorities.
  • Activating the benchmarking system.
  • Preparing performance indicators reports on a regular basis.

Public Relations and Media Committee of the Civil Engineering Department

Tasks :

  • Highlighting the various activities inside and outside the Department.
  • Drafting news, advertising and media materials for the Department and its activities.
  • Preparing various designs for posters, identifiers, advertisements, news, and everything issued by the Department.
  • Developing a policy for publishing media materials in cooperation with the specialized committees.
  • Follow up on everything related to the Department's website from a technical point of view.
  • Posting news related to the Department on the website and on social media.
  • Documenting events by preparing reports.
  • Communicate with students and Department staff and respond to inquiries.

The Quality and Academic Accreditation Committee of the Civil Engineering Department

Tasks :

  • Spreading a culture of quality among College members, students, and Department staff.
  • Implementing the quality system and policies at the University and supervising the implementation of the outputs of the strategic plan of the University and the relevant College at the program level.
  • Preparing the program for accreditation for the first time and for periodic review by international and local accreditation authorities.
  • Preparing plans for evaluation and improvement in the program and following up on their implementation.
  • Executing and following up the activities listed in the academic accreditation and evaluation plans.
  • Analyzing course reports and reviewing required improvements at the end of each semester.
  • Design questionnaires related to measuring and analyzing learning outcomes.

Tasks :

  • Supervising the course registration process and controlling registration, deletion, and addition procedures.
  • Preparing study schedules for the Civil Engineering Department in terms of the courses required to be opened for registration, the number of classes and students in them, and identifying teachers for them.
  • Set a list of courses after completing registration for students and the number of students registered at the beginning of each semester after closing the stage of addition and deletion.

Tasks :

  • Develop a mechanism to determine the number of questions for each course in the program to ensure coverage of all program outputs.
  • Preparing standardized test questions according to the program outputs.
  • Approving standardized test questions from the Vice Presidency for Academic Affairs.
  • Preparing standardized test questions on the University's e-learning system.
  • Being present with the students and following up from the operating room during the standardized test.

  • Preparing plans for academic and student activities in the Department.

  • Creating a program to motivate and honor students who excel academically.

  • Communicate with the Student Advisory Council in the Department to learn about students' opinions and suggestions.

Tasks :

  • Building new study plans and reviewing existing ones in accordance with the references and requirements of accreditation authorities.
  • Studying the needs of modification of the study plan at the program level.
  • Review and study the conditions for admission and registration of students in the program.
  • Examining requests for amendments to the study plan submitted by Faculty members in the program and submitting the requests for approval.

Summer Training Committee, Department of Civil Engineering

Tasks :

  • Preparing a list of training agencies in the public and private sectors and making it available to enrolled students
  • List the available training opportunities in coordination with the University sectors and the industrial environment.
  • Preparing a list of the Department's students according to the approved training places in the summer semester.
  • Communicate with the supervising authorities to ensure that the intended learning outcomes of the summer training course are achieved.
  • Review and audit reports and forms of training who have completed training for evaluation purposes.
  • Supervising all stages of the evaluation process related to the summer training course.
  • Making a list of students who have successfully completed the training requirements and request approval from the Department head.
